Family Support Services provide support to families with a member that has a disability, which may include a child, an adult or even the parent of the family.

Solomon North HomeCare is as an established Home and Community Based Provider that provides Family Support Service for families living with a child and/or family members with disabilities or in need of Sitter Services. We will connect you with families with local and federal resources, as well as support you through the process.

Solomon North HomeCare will assist and support parents and family members in their role as caregivers. Such services can take many different forms depending on the strengths and needs of the family, but their overall goal is to help parents and family members enhance skills and resolve problems that promote optimal child development and adult services. Solomon North HomeCare believes all families can benefit from support in some way; therefore, the principles of Family Support are incorporated into the Service Coordinator’s caseload across the continuum services.

Family Support programs may address the general and/or targeted groups, such as ethnic and cultural minorities; adolescent parents; families facing health, mental health, or substance use issues. They can be comprehensive or focus on a specific goal. Solomon North HomeCare resources will address a broad continuum family support approaches and services for certain groups.

Services covered by the family support may include:

• special equipment

• limited adaptive housing

• homemaker services

• parent to parent outreach

• medical expenses and medications

• nutritional consultation and regime

• related transportation

• special clothing

• special therapies

• respite care

• dental care

• family training and therapy.

Solomon North HomeCare (SNH) Family Support Services works with families, communities, and service providers to promote and provide services for adults and families with children who have special needs, which includes special health care needs, developmental and learning disabilities, and behavioral/mental health diagnoses.
